Founder's Office Finance & BizOps Founder's Office Finance & BizOps About Us Different is a marketing system that runs demand generation for B2B companies. It handles campaign creation, personalization, and optimization in one place, so lean teams can do more without adding headcount, agencies, or point AI solutions. Customers use Different to launch campaigns faster, reach the right buyers, and continuously improve marketing ROI. Between them, Different’s founders have founded two unicorns, led AI at a global marketing software giant, and built platforms used by millions. They bring deep product, technical, and business experience to one shared goal: reimagining how modern marketing works. We are backed by General Catalyst and Lightspeed. The role You’ll work directly with the founders to build and run the business, with an initial focus on finance, legal, and corporate operations. One day, you might build a financial model or prepare an investor update. The next, you could help move a customer agreement forward, work with our accountants, or build a better process for managing company spend. We’re a seed-stage startup, so the scope will evolve. We’re looking for someone with an early grounding in finance, strong analytical foundations, sound judgment, and the curiosity to learn unfamiliar areas and take ownership. What you'll work on Finance and business performance: Build financial models, track cash and spending, maintain budgets, and turn business metrics into insights that inform decisions. Financial operations: Work with external accountants and internal teams to keep billing, payments, reporting, and other finance workflows accurate and on track. Legal and corporate operations: Help move customer and vendor agreements forward, coordinate with external counsel, and keep corporate records, equity administration, and compliance requirements organized. Founder priorities: Support investor updates, board materials, commercial analyses, and special projects that matter as the company grows. AI in daily work: Use AI to research unfamiliar questions, build useful tools, and automate recurring work. What we’re looking for Early career with experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, strategic finance, or another analytically rigorous role. Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with close attention to detail. Clear communication and the ability to turn complex information into a practical recommendation. A willingness to handle the details, follow up persistently, and see work through to completion. Comfort starting on unfamiliar problems, asking good questions, and knowing when to involve an expert. Curiosity about AI and an eagerness to use it in your work. Discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive company information. You don’t need prior expertise across accounting, legal, and compliance. You do need the ability to learn quickly, work effectively with specialists, and own the follow-through. Why this is interesting You’ll apply your finance training to building a company and see up close how founders make decisions about capital, customers, and growth. You’ll have meaningful responsibility early, direct access to the founders, and room to take on broader ownership as you demonstrate what you can do. Annual compensation range: $120k–$210k Actual compensation will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, and the scope of the role. In addition to base salary, Different offers equity and benefits.
