Privacy policy

Who we are

For any privacy question or request, email admin@splendare.com.

What we collect

• Your email address, when you type it into one of our signup forms. With it we store which form you used and when you signed up. That's all we ask for: no name, resume or password.
• Aggregate page analytics from Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you.
• Server logs. Our host, Vercel, briefly keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and secure the site.

We don't collect sensitive data, and the job details on the site come from public company postings and public SEC filings, not from you.

How we use it and why

• Your email: to unlock the full job list and to send you our email of newly funded startups that are hiring. Our legal basis (for visitors in the EU/UK) is your consent, which you give by signing up and can withdraw at any time.
• Analytics and logs: to see which pages are useful, improve the site and keep it secure. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a useful, safe site, which we keep light by collecting no identifiers.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, we don't share it for advertising, and we don't run ad trackers.

Who else handles it

We use a few service providers, who process data only to provide their service to us:

• Vercel: hosts the website and provides the cookieless analytics.
• Supabase: stores the database that holds signup emails.
• Google: company logos are loaded from Google's favicon service, so your browser sends Google a request (including your IP address) when it shows a logo.

When we start sending emails we'll add an email delivery provider to this list. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

Where your data is stored

Our providers store data in the United States. If you visit from the EU or UK, your data is transferred to the US under the safeguards our providers offer, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, then remove it from our list. Hosting logs are kept only for the short period our host sets.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• tell you whether we hold your email, and give you a copy of what we have;
• correct it, or delete it;
• stop emailing you.

In the EU/UK you also have the right to object to processing, restrict it, receive your data in a portable format, withdraw consent at any time (without affecting what happened before), and complain to your local data protection authority.

In California and other US states with privacy laws, you have the right to know, delete and correct your personal information, and we won't treat you differently for using these rights. We don't sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

To use any of these rights, email admin@splendare.com. We'll reply within 30 days and won't charge you.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send will include a link to unsubscribe in one click. You can also email admin@splendare.com at any time and we'll take you off the list.

Cookies and browser storage

We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. The site saves a few small settings in your own browser's local storage: your light or dark theme, whether you've already signed up, how many job pages you've opened (so the signup prompt appears at the right time), and whether you closed that prompt. These never leave your device, and you can clear them in your browser settings.

Security

Signup emails are stored in a database that only our server can access, and all traffic to the site is encrypted (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect small for exactly that reason.

Children

Splendare is for students and job seekers, and isn't meant for children under 13 (under 16 in the EU/UK). We don't knowingly collect their data; if you think we have, email admin@splendare.com and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we use your email, we'll tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
